Purpose of the job

The Data Analytics Specialist provides an actionable data analysis by handling large data sets, accessible within the company, which is a global electronics giant. He or she works closely within this company with marketing communication channel owners such as Digital, CRM, Social Media, PR, and business stakeholders (product divisions). This precise and analytical person will support stakeholders to understand causal effect among marketing variables, simulate the effectiveness when variables change and forecast, using econometrics and machine learning modelling. This person facilitates to make fact-based and data-driven decisions, so that each stakeholder has a better view on the effectiveness of each marketing factors and prioritises where and what to focus on in marketing communication.


Key responsibilities

Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM) and Optimisation

  • Designing Media and Marketing Mix Modelling framework and roll out within the organisation
  • Extract ROI & Contribution based on track record of Invest and Sales performance
  • ROI and effectiveness analysis of marketing vehicles
  • Suggesting optimal mix and investment size based on the robust modelling and simulation result of MMM
  • What-if scenario planning, Validation, Continuous ROI tracking and Optimisation

Driver analysis

  • Understanding the relationship between marketing variables and Key business drivers
  • Suggest where, what and when to trigger effective drivers to reach marketing and sales goals

Customer Analytics Modelling

  • Customer modelling (scoring, tiering and propensity) based on behaviour and ownership
  • Linking consumer and market segmentation to digital audience targeting


Functional/Technical Skills

  • A Machine Learning, Econometrics or related (math/statistics) background
  • Experienced in and affinity with modelling and programming
  • Data-driven, Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills with an affinity of marketing
  • Modelling capabilities knowledge and tools (such as ETL, SQL, Python, and R)
  • Excellent office software skills such as Excel and PowerPoint


Profile (experience)

  • MSc degree in Computer Science, Data Science or Econometrics
  • Effective communication with all level of stakeholder and organisational skills
  • Flexible, Dynamic, Proactive and Team player
  • Native Dutch speaker & Fluent in English
  • Ability to travel to Belgium office when required
  • Availability: Full time
